HENRY OF PELHAM - WINES OF ORIGIN
Henry of Pelham is our classically styled family of wines (named after a Great Grandpa). This is where it all began, our Estate vineyards on the Short Hills Bench, where we produce wines that are bright and fresh with an emphasis on fruit flavours.
CUVÉE CATHARINE
Named in memory of Henry of Pelham’s wife, widow and family matriarch, Catharine Smith, our award-winning Cuvée Catharine sparkling wine is made in the traditional method. A modern Niagara expression of a time-honoured wine style.
Free Bird Riesling
At a time when freedom had to be won, it was bold imagination coupled with bravery that made our pioneering ancestor, Catherine ’Cat’ Smith, truly free. In the 1790’s, Cat and her husband, an Iroquois/Mennonite soldier and United Empire Loyalist, took a leap of faith and settled land overlooking a verdant valley in Niagara’s Short Hills Bench. In this area, the Scarlet Tanager and many other songbirds served as a backdrop to the daily chores and pleasures of family life.
FAMILY TREE
Family Tree celebrates the idea of family. These wines are made from fruit sourced from our own vineyards but also those of our friends, neighbours and distant cousins across the Niagara Peninsula. There is no one grape variety in each wine. Instead, they reflect the best fruit from each site married with other complementary grape varieties from neighbouring vineyards. In this way, we have created easy going wines of sophistication that are a reflection of the people and place that they come from.
SIBLING RIVALRY
What happens when 3 brothers work together? Sibling Rivalry is three brothers and with three grapes per blend in our red & white. Sibling Rivalry is about outcomes. The sum of the parts that make up the blends we produce and the partnership known as The Speck Brothers.
HOUSE WINE CO.
House Wine Co. is about where we grew up. The wines are 'House party' and 'restaurant house' wines. All locally grown 100% VQA.
THREE OF HEARTS
Stirred by the mystery, spirit and romance of three, this premium Niagara Rosé and Pinot Grigio has been made for people who love life’s pleasures and desire new experiences.
Fresh and elegant, this wine displays vibrant aromas of white peach and strawberry with subtle floral notes. Medium-bodied mouthfeel with balanced acidity and flavours of fresh raspberries and honeydew melon on the palate.
LAZZARA SECCO
Julia Lazzara was our great grandmother. Julia's ancestors and her husband emigrated to New York where the latter did fine marble work on the city's first skyscrapers. The label design, the style of wine, and of course the name, pay homage to our Italian ancestors.
REVEL CABERNET BACO NOIR
You demand a big, bold wine. REVEL is made from the ripest grapes grown in our warmest vineyards. Aging in oak barrels takes the rich flavour to a whole new level. Go large with REVEL Cabernet Baco Noir.
Vibrant aromas of black cherry and cassis. Silky smooth tannins on the palate with rich flavours of vanilla followed by a hint of blueberry on the finish.
